How's It Goin?

Well, Spring Break is almost here, we are staying home, and that is about that. Jo is sick today with bad allergies, and Cody rolled his ankle last night at practice. Hopefully it's not cracked! We just got done with the hand mess, so say a prayer for him. Have a great Spring Break, and check me out on Facebook. It's a lot of fun and a great way to get to know people or find old pals.
See ya next time.

Back In The Swing

I am trying to get back in the swing. I really don't think I was ever out, I just had to add the stress and sadness of Mom's death into the mix. Cody broke his hand 2 days before the Christmas break ended, ruining his first ever season of JV soccer. He had surgery the day after Christmas break was over, and missed some more school. Then he had finals to study for. He also had 2 pins in his hand for three weeks which stuck out of his right knuckles like Frankenstein. Luckily, he got those out last Thursday, but he still has to wait another month to really be involved with soccer. Not the best thing for the keeper to break his finger!

I am finally figuring out what the deal has been with the yuck-o health and no energy, weight gain, blah blah. I have a thyroid and adrenal gland issue right now, so I have started on some natural alternatives that really seem to be helping a lot. I actually did almost an hour of cardio walking today, which I would not have been able to do last week. I usually jog/walk for about 20-25 minutes and peter out. So this is good. I am excited to be excited again.

Jo has been busy with cookie sales, although they are really sluggish this season. The last booth we did yielded only 3 boxes! What a joke. We left after an hour. So, all you non-commenting spies out there, just call me, and I'll hook you up with some cookies! Lol. She is also busy with ballet, cheerleading for Upward at church, and playing indoor soccer. In addition to the math and reading homework second grade brings every night, we stay quite busy. I will post some cute pics of her soon.

I am excited about Facebook. It seems pretty neat, and I have reconnected with some pals from high school, as well as some family and local friends. I hope to be able to spend more idle time figuring it out, so I can complete some of those fun surveys I like! Seriously, it is wonderful to see how everyone has turned out.

More to come, so stay tuned! ;~)

I Don't Know What To Say

This week we are mourning the passing of a great lady, my Mom, Deanie. I have taken several days to sit and even contemplate what I would even say in this post, as the words rush so quickly I can hardly organize my thoughts. I can't count the number of times this week I have taken out my phone to call her, nor the amount of times her face has been in my mind. I feel robbed, as I am sure our whole family does. But she was very ill with cancer so we know she is with her Father now. I am secure in that, though my heart is still in a million pieces. We miss you mom. The kids miss their Ississ...( say it fast like dishes...)

We spread her ashes on the shore at Lake Fort Phantom along with dozens of beautiful blossoms. She is with her mother now, at the site of their old homestead. It was windy, the weather impatient just like Mom. It was getting colder, just before the front came in, and I knew she would want us to get on with it because she didn't like the cold. So we said a prayer and laughed and cried, and then she was gone.
But never forgotten. Ever.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CODY!!!

Well, it's two days late, but HBD anyway, son! I can't believe Cody is 15!!! Time sure does fly! No big shin-dig this year, but I did make a favorite meal and desserts (yes, plural) for my boy! He also got to go to the Valley with his Dad for the weekend during the Western District Soccer Tourney! They didn't win, but for a team that has olny been formed for one season, they sure accomplished something by even getting there! I guess it was worth the 6 hour, one way trip to Harlingen! UGH! It must be a guy thing.
He also made the HS Freshman soccer team as Keeper, of course, so we will see how that goes, as it is a totally different ball game than even Select soccer is. I am anxious to see how they do!

Happy Anniversary to Us!

Happy Anniversary, Baby. I love you! I can't believe it's been 17 years! We are a perfect fit. You are my right hand, my soul mate. Thank you for my life and my babies. God bless us for ever. Love, Jen Poo

To The Playoffs!

Well, I just thought we were done with soccer for a while. Not! Cody's team just found out they qualified for the playoffs. It's called Western District, and it's a two day tourney but the best part is: it's in Harlingen! Yea! Only a six or so hour drive one way! Woo hoo! Oh well, I am proud of the little fart. He earned it. He worked really hard this season. Besides, I won't go anyway. It's a guy's weekend. I know he'll have a blast with Kevin and especially his buddies! And it's his birthday weekend, so maybe he'll get some sort of trophy for his 15th!
Congrats, son! Just making the tournament is a huge deal.
